To work at the scale of miracles

Clack Creek Forest is as good as gone. The Squamish loggers begin today to clear cut our beloved Forest of 1000 Hearts. The trees destined to Richmond for plywood.

So, we now have confirmation that the NDP Government is indeed heartless. Vancouverites are no doubt thankful to their fore leaders who had the vision to preserve Stanley Park, a 400-hectare natural West Coast rainforest.  Time for our Sunshine Coast leaders to do the same for our community!  We want Mt Elphinstone Park expanded!!

We aren’t random radicals, we are a community: of parents and teachers, of business owners and artists, of families and friends, of citizens and voters. We are not giving away our right to peaceful action. We are not avoiding complex discussions of economics, resources or jobs. We are knowledgeable and we are paying attention. We are acting as climate-conscious citizens creating the transition to an equitable sustainable future for us all (even the Vagrant Shrew).

When our friend at Friday’s gathering held up her sign  that said, ‘I need a miracle’, we learnt something. That it is a calling for our time. To learn to work at the scale of miracles. Okay then. Game on.
