Calling all hearts, again

On Friday, we did a small thing with great love.  About 150 people stood along Sunshine Coast Hwy 101 in unity to oppose the BC Timber Sales (an arm of the Ministry of Forests) and the NDP government's push to proceed on logging The Clack Creek Forest.

Clack Creek Forest Needs a Miracle and miracles have been known to happen.

Here is the 30 second Call to Action that you can do right now to have an impact:

  1. FLOOD MINISTER DOUG DONALDSON’S INBOX BEFORE MONDAY (JANUARY 27) MORNING

Before Monday morning, email the Minister (doug.donaldson@gov.bc.caone last time to urge him to intervene at this late hour. We are voters and we will remember if this forest goes down. An Injunction to remove a peaceful blockade could be granted on Tuesday paving the way for 10,000 of trees to be dropped. Let the Minister know that democracy is listening to the will of the people.

Pick your favourite image and copy it into your message. Visit the Living Forest Institute’s and Elphinstone Logging Focus websites for information and text to use in your message.

Again it is doug.donaldson@gov.bc.ca. Normally it takes 4% of a population to be activated to create systemic change. Friday we had 1% out. Ask three friends to send a message. With so many heartfelt people in our community, surely we can make the 4% threshold?

  2. GO AND VISITI CLACK CREEK FOREST IN PERSON

See the Living Forest Institute’s website for directions.

The Forest is closed to logging up to Tuesday so feel free to talk a walk with the hearts and the trees. At the trailhead a few trees are down so make your way around and straight up into the standing trees.

  3. STAY TUNED: THINGS WILL HAPPEN FAST
