The Songbirds

SONGBIRD FOREST CONCERT SERIES 2022

The first of our three Songbird Forest Concert Series took place this past Sunday. Approximately 45 people joined us for the challenging hike to the Soaring Eagles stage. And their efforts were well rewarded with the beautiful harmonies of the Songbirds, a gorgeous setting and perfect weather. Images below:

How to help save the Songbird Forest

The forest in which you have experienced this afternoon’s performance is scheduled to be logged this Fall by the Sunshine Coast Community Forest (SCCF), a logging company owned by the District of Sechelt. Please help prevent this from happening by contacting the SCCF.

CONTACT:

Kathleen Suddes, SCCF Board of Directors’ Chair:

Phone: 604-885-7809

ASK THAT SCCF:

  1. Cancel the three cutblocks in the Songbird Forest without delay

  2. Respect the Sunshine Coast Regional Districts Bylaw 641 calling for expansion of the Mt. Elphinstone Provincial Park that includes this forest

  3. Cease to use deception communications, (ie. imagery of intact natural forests, and language promoting the benefits of intact natural forests that will be clear-cut, thus removing those benefits)

Much gratitude to the Elphinstone Logging Focus for the campaigns to save natural intact forests and their ecosytems, including the Songbird Forest. See www.loggingfocus.org
